What Is a Certified Treecare Safety Professional ?

Established in 1938, the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) is an international trade association comprising over 2,300 tree care firms and affiliated companies. The TCIA’s Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) program is the only safety credentialing program in the arboriculture industry. A CTSP possesses significant technical field experience in tree care and applies their skills toward creating safer workplaces for their peers and landscapes for their employer’s clients.

Founded in 1924, the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is a non-profit organization which promotes the professional practice of cultivating trees and fosters greater worldwide awareness of trees’ benefits. An ISA Certified Arborist must have demonstrated their commitment to the ISA’s mission, worked in their field for at least three years, and earned a degree in arboriculture, horticulture, landscape architecture or forestry from a regionally accredited educational institute.
